An occasionally bored husband, father, office worker and distance learning student, who hates the idea of my life being tagged simply by what I do. This blog is intended to host the kind of writing that wouldn’t normally be published. It is a personal take on life and all that it brings.
My writing appears in the Yorkshire Evening Post (as a freelance sports columnist – speciality: Crown Green and Indoor Bowls – I am 35 before you ask), and have previously been published in DJ Magazine, BBC Website, The Leeds Guide Magazine and in corporate papers linked to work. One day I will write a book I can truly be proud of. Until that time – I’ll have to make do with this site.
Please do forgive any grammar or spelling mistakes not picked up by spell checker. I paid little to no attention to English in my beloved Alma mater. As a means by which to restrict my access to anything flammable, caustic or items with similar destructive properties, I was thrown in to a science class under the watchful eye of a senior tutor – this meant no chemistry, biology or physics for this rebel. Unfortunately, safe (remedial) science was linked to a similar standard of teaching where English is concerned. Where you may well have studied the bard or the great American novel – I studied average plays under the watchful eye of Towser the dog – who subsequently went on to have a nervous breakdown. Happy days all round.
Enjoy.
